Sounding of the gong by Le Champion and NN for TCS Amsterdam Marathon

Le Champion and NN open trading to raise awareness for the TCS Amsterdam Marathon, which takes place on Sunday 21 October. Tadelech Bekele , athlete of the NN Running Team, sounded the gong. NN is sponsor of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon, in which 45,000 runners participate.

This upcoming Sunday 45,000 athletes will enjoy their participation during the full marathon, half marathon, 8K or Kids Run. The full marathon, in possession of the IAAF Gold Label, has one of the fastest courses in the world. Highlights are the start and finish in the Olympic Stadion, the passage through the Rijksmuseum and the Vondelpark and along the Amstel River.

In total Le Champion brings annually about 200,000 people in motion. There 20,000 members of the association.

Robeco and investment experts Pim van Vliet and Jan Koning sound the gong to raise awareness for the investment behaviour of the conservative retail investors. Van Vliet and de Koning wrote a book two clearly explain the phenomenon and setup of a conservative investment portfolio for private investors.

With this book they pay attention to the private investor who, according to them, invests in a non-sustainable investment strategy, can become the profitable investment expert.

Xavier Barbaro, CEO of Neoen, opens the trading day in Paris.

Neoen is a leading independent producer of renewable energy (the first independent producer of electricity from renewable energy in France), whose activity focuses on solar and wind power production, as well as on the development of advanced energy storage solutions. Jolanda Maasakkers, executive secretary of real estate developer SDK Vastgoed (holding company VolkerWessels) has been awarded with the price of ‘Secretaresse van het Jaar 2018’ in the beginning of this year.

Shoevers organized in association with Pimm solutions and Experis the 33rd edition of this prestigious event. The theme of this year was Fit for the Future.

After three exciting preliminary rounds there were only three finalists left. The day of the finals, 250 colleagues and a jury (consisting of Marguerite Collot d’Escury secretary of Prime minister Mark Rutte, Annelies Bessels  Chairman of the Dutch association of executive secretaries and the winner of the title from last year Kelly Moerbeek) voted for the winner.

According to the jury report, Jolanda Maasakkers is “a true professional that showed tremendous growth during her nomination period for the title. Jolanda encouraged people to keep on learning and because of this she is an amazing ambassador for the field of secretaries”.

IMC Weekendschool sounds the gong at Euronext for their 20th anniversary

The IMC weekend school Foundation has been providing additional education for young people between the ages of ten and fourteen years old, from neighbourhoods where this is most needed.

Since the start in Amsterdam Zuidoost, the weekend school has grown immensely; covering  ten branches in the big cities and with an alumni network of 2600 former pupils. They already offer their education during school hours, at twenty regular primary schools across the Netherlands (IMC Basis) and at eight locations for newcomers children in international language classes (IMC on Tour). Year to date, they reach 2400 pupils from 38 different locations on a weekly basis. Their initial concept is still at heart: stimulating the curiosity of young individuals by introducing them to enthusiastic professionals who will introduce them to their business.

Success should be celebrated. And that's what they will do at the jubilee party in the Amsterdam Westerkerk on October 13 on the occasion of which they open trading at the Amsterdam Stock Exchange on 11 October.

Ebbinge Investment Program opens the exchange for the kick-off program 2018-2019

Online broker LYNX Nederland opens trading by sounding of the gong

The Amsterdam Exchange markets are opened by broker firm LYNX Nederland, to mark its strong growth, and its recent introduction of a new lower pricing structure. Sander Schwanen, branch manager of LYNX Netherlands, sounds the gong to celebrate.

At LYNX, an investor now pays € 0,79 for a stock option at Euronext and € 0,99 for an AEX index option. Fees for stock trades at Euronext went down with 33% to 0,06% of the total transaction value. Tycho Schaaf, investment specialist at LYNX, explains: “LYNX has seen phenomenal growth in the past 12 years, first and foremost because of our constant focus on the overall picture. I am proud to say that, in the past 3 years, our client base has doubled. The consequent economies of scale we pass on to our clients by lowering our prices. Euronext en Clifford Chance open trading at the Amsterdam exchange

Two years after the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) came into effect, InsiderLog together with Clifford Chance, is hosting a seminar for companies listed at the Euronext Amsterdam. Following the gong ceremony Han Teerink of Clifford Chance and John Engholm of InsiderLog will elaborate on the requirements for issuers and the use of compliance tools.

BlackRock launches industry first to give investors even greater choice for ESG investing in emerging market debt

BlackRock announced the launch of a new exchange-traded fund (ETF) as more and more bond investors look to integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors within their investments, with Dutch insurance company a.s.r. as the seed investor of the fund.

The new iShares J.P. Morgan ESG $ EM Bond UCITS ETF (EMES) will track the J.P. Morgan ESG  EMBI Global Diversified Index, one of the JESG EMD suite of indices launched by J.P. Morgan in collaboration with BlackRock in April 2018. It has a total expense ratio of 0.45%.

He does this in the presence of some involved from the Ministry of Economic Affairs at the regional development companies.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, together with regional authorities (usually provinces), is a shareholder and subsidiary of six ROMs (NOM, East NV, LIOF, BOM, Impuls and IQ). The ROMs link national innovation and top sector policy to regional economic policy and are important for (regional) services to innovative SMEs. ROMs guide and finance innovations of SMEs and contribute to the economic growth and employment of the region. In addition, the ROMs have three important tasks. The ROMs play an important role in the Netherlands in providing risk-bearing capital to start-ups and financing young companies. The capacity of the joint ROMs amounts to almost € 325 million, apart from the additional resources made available by the provinces. The ROMs are therefore one of the largest providers of risk capital in this market segment in the Netherlands. In addition, ROMs connect startups, SMEs and large companies with each other, building on joint ventures, new clusters, programs and business consortia. Entrepreneurs in the province of Noord-Holland in small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups that originate from the knowledge institutions can receive a loan for the development of a sustainable and innovative product or process. The Innovation Fund provides loans during the so-called Proof-of-Concept phase of the development of a new product or process. In this phase there is a detailed idea on paper that has to be put into practice, for example by building a prototype. Practice shows that traditional financiers are hesitant to invest in the early phase. That is why the province of Noord-Holland, together with a number of important knowledge institutions, has set up this Innovation Fund. Special attention is given to initiatives in the areas of circular economy, sustainable mobility and energy transition and in the area of ​​health care. In the first phase, 12.5 million euros is available, of which the European Union contributes 5 million. In total, 21 million is available in the long term. The province of North Holland contributes a total of 8 million euros.

Every year, Statistics Netherlands (CBS) organizes the Business Cycle Challenge. In this contest, high school economics classes predict the development of the Dutch economy using 10 indicators, including the AEX index. Students analyze historical sequences, compare indicators, make connections and follow the news to make a good prediction. They will have to collaborate, analyze, investigate and argue.

Sounding of the gong for The International Four Days Marches Nijmegen; The Walk of the World

The Four Days Marches are a walking achievement event for four consecutive days, in which annually tens of thousands walkers are participating.  In 2018 at the 102nd edition of the event, some 45,000 participants will attend. The organization behind the Four Days Marches open the trading day by sounding the gong.

Participants from 84 countries come to Nijmegen to walk four days, respectively 30, 40 or 50  kilometers per day. On those days, people from all over the world come to Nijmegen to walk in and around the city and its beautiful wooded surroundings. Hundreds of thousands of spectators are cheering on the walkers along the route every day. After four days of walking, a glorious entry along the Via Gladiola awaits the walkers. The 102nd edition of the Four Days Marches will start Tuesday July 17th at 4 AM.

There are three important partners that support the organisation of the Four Days Marches: Koninklijke Wandel Bond Nederland, Defense and the City of Nijmegen. City of Amsterdam opens renewed Beursplein 

The City of Amsterdam opens the renewed Beursplein by sounding the gong. In 2017, the city started building an underground bicycle garage and renewing the area surrounding the Amsterdam stock exchange.

After completing this work, the Beursplein has once again become a beautiful square, with the original horse troughs and lanterns designed by the famous Dutch architect Berlage. The statue of the Charging Bull by artist Arturo Di Modica has also found a new place on the square.

The festive inauguration of the Beurs area and the underground bicycle garage takes place Friday 13 July from 15:00 on, with the official opening at 15:30. After the opening there will be several festivities on the square and in the underground bicycle garage.

The trading day is opened by triple European beach volleyball champion Reinder Nummerdor, tournament director of the DELA European Beach Volleyball Championships in 2018. He participated in the Olympic Games 5 times and placed 4th in 2012.

On 15 July the EC DELA Beach Volleyball 2018 will start in four cities: Apeldoorn, Utrecht, Rotterdam and The Hague. The best beach volleyball players in Europe play at four unique locations in these cities. The semi-finals and finals will be played in the Sportcampus Zuiderpark, The Hague. The DELA EK Beach Volleyball takes place simultaneously with the World Cup Seat Volleyball and the European Championship Volleyball U20 men.

The Delft Hyperloop team opens the trading day at Euronext Amsterdam. The student team from Delft does this in response to the worldwide Hyperloop competition organized by Elon Musk: The SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition in California. With the sounding of the gong, the Delft Hyperloop team will enter an exciting period in which they hope to win the competition on 22 July, 2018.

Last year, the previous Hyperloop team won the first prize in this competition. The criteria to win were scalability and safety. This year the only competition criterion is top speed. The student team wants to break the current record of 384 km/h.
